Sān Lóu Pasta Bar @ Menara Infiniti, Selangor

Every now and then, you stumble upon a place that completely redefines your expectations, and sometimes, you don’t even stumble upon it. You have to know about it. That’s exactly the case with Sān Lóu Pasta Bar, an Italian-Asian fusion gem that’s quietly tucked away inside an office building.

If you’re not specifically looking for it, you’d probably walk right past it. This isn’t your high-street, Instagram-famous café. It’s the kind of spot people whisper about. The “if you know, you know” kind of place. And now that I know… I’m not keeping it a secret.

Sān Lóu Pasta Bar

Located within a corporate building, Sān Lóu Pasta Bar feels almost hidden in plain sight. You won’t find random foot traffic here—this is a destination restaurant, the kind you seek out with intention. Inside, the space is small and intimate, with limited tables, making it perfect for a quiet meal. Walk-ins are unlikely to get a table, especially during peak hours, so it’s definitely better to make a reservation ahead of time to avoid disappointment.

As for parking, there is paid parking nearby, but free parking is quite limited, so plan accordingly. Once inside though, the atmosphere is cosy, casual, and clean. You immediately get the sense that the focus here is the food—and rightly so.

All their pasta are homemade, and you can immediately tell the difference in taste and texture. They don’t cut corners here. Here’s what I ordered:

Chilli Crab Pasta – RM38.90

This dish was love at first bite. It features homemade egg tagliatelle, tossed in a house-made chilli paste, egg white, and served with a deep-fried soft shell crab plus a side of golden man tao (Chinese steamed-then-fried buns). And let me tell you—it was fantastic.

The sauce was rich and flavourful, perfectly coating the pasta without being heavy. The chilli had a gentle kick, just enough to awaken the senses without overpowering the other flavours. The soft shell crab added a beautiful crunch and seafood sweetness, while the man tao was perfect for mopping up the sauce. My only complaint? I wish there had been more man tao because I genuinely wanted to soak up every last drop of that addictive sauce. It was that good.

Tuscan Pork Jowl Pasta – RM35.00

Another winner. This one featured bucatini – a thick, hollow pasta that’s perfect for catching bits of sauce, tossed with pulled pork jowl and topped with a generous helping of 24-month aged Grana Padano cheese.

The pork jowl was tender and rich, with that melt-in-your-mouth fattiness that makes you pause between bites just to appreciate the flavour. The cheese added the perfect salty kick to balance the richness. Clean bowl. No regrets.

Final Thoughts

Sān Lóu Pasta Bar absolutely delivers on flavour, quality, and originality. The fusion concept is executed thoughtfully, not just a gimmick, but a true marriage of Italian technique and Asian soul. The homemade pasta alone is enough to justify a visit, but the creativity and care in each dish is what makes this place stand out.

It’s not the easiest place to find, and parking might take a bit of effort, but honestly? It’s worth it. Both dishes were excellent, and I left feeling like I had just discovered one of the city’s best-kept culinary secrets.

Would I go back? Without a doubt. I can’t wait to try more of their dishes!
