Since Then @ Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur

If you’re looking for a new cafe to try in Bangsar, Since Then might just be the place for you. Opened in January this year, this cafe has already started to make a name for itself with its delectable dishes and inviting atmosphere.

Located in a warehouse-style space, Since Then offers a modern yet minimalistic aesthetic that instantly makes you feel at ease. The high ceilings create an airy environment, while the simple decor keeps the focus on comfort and conversation. Whether you’re there for a casual meal or catching up with friends, the atmosphere sets the perfect tone for a relaxed dining experience. The cafe also features a lovely curated garden, adding a serene touch to your dining experience.

Since Then, Bangsar - Interior

Since Then is situated in the heart of Bangsar, making it easily accessible by car or public transport. However, parking might be a challenge due to limited street parking in the area. It’s advisable to plan ahead and consider nearby parking options.

Omurice with Beef Curry and Chicken Katsu – RM29.9

This dish was an absolute delight! The omurice was perfectly soft and fluffy, wrapping around a bed of Japanese white rice. The chicken katsu was flaky and crispy, a refreshing change from the usual hard texture found elsewhere. The beef bits were tender, adding richness to the dish.

I opted for an add-on of beef curry for RM1, which was well worth it – the curry was rich, thick, and packed with umami flavours that tied everything together perfectly. The dish also came with yellow pickled radishes, which helped reset the palate and left me wanting more.

Tomyum Mentaiko Squid Ink Pasta – RM33.9

For those who love bold flavors, this dish is a must-try. The tomyum base added a tangy and slightly spicy kick, yet had a creamy taste that made it incredibly rich. The squid ink pasta provided an extra depth of flavor, making each bite both indulgent and satisfying. It featured fresh prawns and scallops, both of which tasted fresh and not fishy. The scallops were cooked to perfection, adding a delightful seafood element to the dish.

The generous use of onions enhanced the overall taste and brought even more depth to the rich flavours. It’s definitely a standout dish, especially for those who enjoy a fusion of Asian and Western flavours.

Final Thoughts

Since Then is a fantastic new addition to Bangsar’s cafe scene, offering rich and well-balanced flavours in a cozy yet stylish setting. With a menu that brings something unique to the table, it’s definitely a spot worth checking out.

Would I go back? Without a doubt! I can’t wait to try more dishes from their menu!
